A preliminary note: my use of English is not an affectation, merely a matter of habit and efficiency.

I dare say it's not too much to ask for a humble "water post" of my own, is it?

After all, I do believe I need a water post — really practical, isn't it?‌

Pardon the utterly dispensable nature of this post.

I should be most grateful if the administrators would permit this post to remain.

Well... this is rather a quiet little post, I suppose — shall only be brought out when the need arises.

Hmm... this shall be a rather inconsequential post, of little use save for occasional musings or image uploads - who can say? The truth is, I've never quite managed to find a spare post lying about, so I deemed it necessary to establish one. Your compliments are most appreciated - English is a passion of mine, a language I find exquisite in its refinement. I strive to capture in my words the gracefulness I hold dear.

Wow, this reply was amazing!!! I've never seen such beautiful language even though I'm in one of the top foreign languages schools in Shanghai😅

I believe you could get full marks in Chinese College Entrance Exams or even international tests like IELTS and TOEFL! (I just got 6.5 in IELTS writing😅😅😅)

Thank you. I think my good English comes from having American family and friends, so I speak English often - more than Chinese, in fact. It's almost my second language now. I love English and work hard at it, like with my American accent though I'm trying British now. I don't really care about TOEFL or IELTS, but 6.5 in IELTS is very good for a Chinese student who only grew up around Chinese people. I know IELTS tests vocabulary and grammar a lot, and as someone who uses English so much, I find that hard to balance. You're amazing.

A persistent wonderment has occupied my thoughts. The fortunate circumstance of dwelling in an English-speaking milieu has granted me effortless fluency. My heart yearns for散文or poetic expressions when conversing with American friends - though I'll concede it may verge on affectation? Yet they receive it with perfect comprehension. The contrast is striking when Chinese friends falter in understanding. This has led me to ponder why Chinese students feel shackled by rigid linguistic conventions. The notion that each word possesses one immutable meaning seems widespread - when English's beauty lies in its flexibility... I maintain my expressions are entirely natural, while many Chinese students' speech appears constrained. Might I ask - does IELTS training also require you to commit to memory vocabulary, grammatical rules, and complete sentences? For any unintended offense, my sincerest apologies.

In fact I think I might have grown up in an Amarican English environment too, but not as immersive as you did. To be more specific, I learned English in an American way, instead of 死记硬背 vocabularies and grammar rules. I usually finish English exercises in school by feeling(语感,可能不太地道), and my feelings are mostly correct. I've also been to the USA in 2019(yep, just before COVID19).

Well in IELTS tests there're 4 parts, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. As for the L and R part, there's no need to pay attention to grammars cuz there's only single-choices or '_______'s. (They're the easiest parts for Chinese candidates). And in the W and S part, your vocab and language are more important, you should perfect your language while making sure they're grammatically correct.

Sorry that I types so slowly😅

Ah...if I may be permitted one further inquiry - might I ask whether the IELTS examination mandates British or American pronunciation? My apologies for these repeated interruptions.

I do appreciate your patience, though I must confess I feel somewhat remiss in monopolising your conversation so early in our acquaintance... Ah...7.5? Truly remarkable! Such English examinations invariably strike me as rather formidable affairs, cloaked in formality and gravity.
